October 2018 Newsletter
Australian rural communities are really struggling in Australia's Eastern states with farmers calling it the worst drought in living memory.
Australia Post has recently released a special edition Drought Relief stamp to help raise funds for Rural Aid, with the aim of raising $200,000.
On the 29th of September, 100,000 sheetlets of five stamps were released for purchase for $5, and with each sheetlet sold Australia Post is donating $2 toward much needed relief efforts.
KoalaStamps has secured a quantity of these and will be including one stamp, cut from the sheetlet of five, with every order received over $10 during the next 2 weeks. This offer will finish on the 31st October.
I expect there will be a significant demand for these, being only available in sheetlets of five, with a small quantity issued, and for a cause that is currently a very hot topic here (that's a terrible pun!).
Continuing with the Australia theme, this month's new listings include Australia mint never hinged for the elusive 1990s, a period missing from many Australian collections. All the diecut (peel and stick) issues, miniature sheets, miniature sheets with special overprints and booklets are also listed.
Do you have an interest in Australian cinderellas? You'll also find all the Parks and Wildlife Koala issues, Duck stamps, LIONS Christmas seals and Royal Flying Doctor Service sheets.
If you are missing any of this material I would suggest you grab it now as stocks are limited.
The KoalaStamps website now has 8,500 sets and singles listed with a 10% discount off my eBay prices, free postage on orders of $50.00 or more, and of course a free Drought Relief stamp this month for orders over $10.00.
If you're purchasing outside of Australia of course you also benefit from exchange rates because of the lousy value of the Australian dollar!
All the best, stay happy and enjoy your collecting.
